Historical Definition
Ilech supernaturale is a conjunction of supernatural and firmamental stars with the lower stars of terrestrial things, and with wine.
Meaning
The definition brings together supernatural and firmamental stars, lower stars of terrestrial things, and wine. The conjunction is the defining relation. The entry does not explain a sequence of operations or identify how wine enters the account.
The levels of stars should remain distinct in the modernised wording. Reducing the whole phrase to ordinary astrology or to a preparation of wine would lose the several terms deliberately included by the compiler.
Use in the Book
Ilech magnum relates a medicine’s hidden star to stars in the firmament and in a person. Constellatio describes impressions from higher upon lower bodies. These connections help the reader recognise a vocabulary of conjunction and correspondence, while leaving this entry’s particular inclusion of wine unexplained by the short gloss.
Places to Read
Constellatio. The influence of higher stars understood as an impression in lower things.
Ilech magnum. A medicine’s hidden star explained through a higher and lower correspondence.
In This Edition
The source’s defective terrestrial spelling is regularised in the modernised definition; the original is preserved with its textual note. No unmentioned planetary correspondence or recipe is added.
